CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Rota Fabu. The idea for this blog started about a year ago. As time progressed, more ideas came to mind about how I envisioned this website to be. I believe that behind every car, there is a unique story to tell. Rota Fabu is created to put those stories in the spotlight. My good friend William gets the first spotlight. He has a unique story behind a very insane car. This is what William has to say about his car.
''That's how I kicked down my first clutch as a 10-year-old boy, with my father sitting next to me. Until finally, I was able to step on the throttle in my first car, which was a 1.8 Mazda MX-5 NA from 94' ''
CHAPTER 2
ROLLING CHILDHOOD
From a very young age, I grew up with cars. My dad bought a PlayStation 1 with Gran Turismo that we could play together for hours, and we invented our brand of cars and drew cool models. That's how I kicked down my first clutch as a 10-year-old boy, with my father sitting next to me. Until finally, I was able to step on the throttle in my first car, which was a 1.8 Mazda MX-5 NA from 94' (the same age as me). It didn't go very fast, but I was instantly in love. Again, I started tinkering on cars with my dad while also spending a whole winter making his DIY body kit for his Renault Clio RS. So it was clear pretty quickly that I have a passion for almost anything that moves forward with a lot of noise. This was also stirred up by the friends around me who were also constantly working on their cars, some crazier than others, but the common interest was something that brought us together quite often.
CHAPTER 3
THE DOWNSIDE
The car story I have to tell here is very special to me. The sound is deafeningly beautiful, and the handling is unprecedented. You would almost think that it is a street-legal go-kart. Sometimes enthusiasts would like to drive around the block with me. I had never driven anything so wild before, and everyone looks at you. Never a dull moment when I'm taking it for a ride. But it is also a car I would rather not have, but I would never get rid of. I took it over after my dad had a fatal motorcycle accident in 2018. So this car has a special place in my heart for me.
CHAPTER 4
DOWN TO THE LAST DETAIL
The car you see is a Lotus Super 7 replica with a dazzling orange color and a 1800cc Suzuki Hayabusa engine block. Despite only producing a fairly civilized 160hp, this is more than enough in a car that only weighs over 600kg (1320 lbs). The scream and howl of the engine that you can chase up to almost 12,000 rpm are bizarre, especially as you sit with your ear next to the exhaust. The handling is sublime in this car, and for a good reason. With lightweight Team Dynamics rims, Toyo r888r semi-slicks, and Öhlins shock absorbers, you almost literally stick to the road. It is also remarkable how many original parts of the Hayabusa have been preserved, I use the original key to start it, and the original speedometer is used.
The car was assembled by a Dutchman (name unknown) who probably had a Westfield frame shipped from England and then carefully designed and built everything himself. The elaboration and finishing are bizarrely precise. I enjoy it intensely every time I open up the throttle.
